Famous tuner of exotic cars IMSA GmbH has come up with a light but very effective upgrade program for the Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe. IMSA agrees that AMG has already done a fantastic job with this car, but they say there is still room for improvement.
So right off the bat they swap the
standard AMG wheels for a set of their own forged light-alloy rims in
sizes 9×21 inch with tires 255/35R21 on the front axle and 10,5×21 inch
with 295/30R21 rubber on the rear. That takes care the looks. Next up is
the engine.
For the magnificent 5.5 liter twin-turbo
engine that powers this beast IMSA proposes a software upgrade and a
custom exhaust system to go with it. The system includes modified
x-cross central muffler as well downpipes and cats. To make sure these
changes will have the optimum effect the tuner has also fiddled with the
intercoolers, airways, and air filters. The result is a colossal 720
horsepower and 1,080 Nm of max. torque.
That’s it for now for the Mercedes
S63 AMG Coupe from IMSA, but the firm is in the process of designing a
bespoke aero kit for the car. So stay tuned for more good news from
Lower Rhine.
