These days the Audi RS6 is the car every tuner wants to work on. The word’s got out that the 4 liter TFSI V8 in this bad boy responds incredibly well to a good treatment, so everyone wants a piece of the action. Mcchip-DKR is the latest to get hold of the RS6, and they’ve done good thing with it.
It is amazing how Audi has managed to extract 560 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque, which is the standard power output, out of just four liters. But even more astonishing is the fact that with a few simple changes, most of it electronic, this engine can be made to produce tons more.
The guys at Mcchip have developed a tailored ECU map for the Audi RS6 which does weird things with the turbo boost and fuel-air mixture, as well ignition timing and some other parameters, the net result of which is a huge increase in power to 624 horsepower and almost 850 Nm of torque.
The standard dual-clutch transmission and the quattro all-wheel-drive system in the RS6 are deemed by all tuners strong and efficient enough not to need any further modification. They can easily take up to 40 percent more power than the standard figures.
