Forgiato Widebody Corvette Takes a 750 HP Stroll

The widebody Chevy Corvette made by Forgiato already qualifies for the title of Coolest Custom 'Vette of 2014. We really weren't surprised to see that one of the models they built went to a Japanese fan, even though it cost a whopping $150,000 and is as discrete as Godzilla.

Now, the aftermarket specialists have moved their game even further with a Corvette Convertible unlike anything we've ever seen. Not only does it have the sexy widebody kit, but it also has more power than a Lamborghini Aventador's V12 engine.

How is that possible? Chevrolet sells many flavors of Corvette, some of which have tried to claim they are supercars. However, 750 horsepower is well out of the reach of any factory-built Corvette.

For this special SEMA project, Forgiato say they had to go to a company called BH Factory. We did a bit of digging and found out that they are talking about Baily's Highperformance from Fort Worth, Texas, who specialize in Chevys, Chryslers and Cadillacs. They're also authorized Hennessey dealers and we have a sneaking suspicion that if were allowed to look under that yellow bonnet, we would find a HPE700 Supercharged Upgrade from the same guys that make the Venom GT, unofficially the fastest car in the world. This kit includes a 2.3-liter supercharger, a new camshaft and high flow injectors.

If you've ever wondered what a $160,000+ Corvette Convertible would look like going down the road, here's your chance.
