Some say that the Audi A8 is a
veritable snoozefest, another boring car for company executives to drive
to meetings in. However, fans of the brand know this to be false,
especially when it's a V8 model that they are talking about.
Audi has registered great success with the A8 facelift ever since its
launch last year and specialists tuners ABT decided to launch a complete
customization catalog for this large saloon that should attract many
current owners.
As per usual, it includes a variety of power boxes that will comfortably
fit any of the available engines. The highlight has to be the one for
the 4-liter TFSI, which upgrades it from 435 HP and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft)
to 540 HP (397 kW) and 720 Nm (531 lb-ft).
Diesel fans will also be able to tune their engines, since the 3.0 TDI
can be updated from 258 HP to 300 HP. For the V8 TDI, ABT has prepared a
package that increases the output from 385 HP to 430 HP and 920 Nm (678
lb-ft). Very Mercedes AMG-like!
On the cosmetics side, ABT hasn't done as much as we're used to. The
front end has been enhanced with a subtle chin spoiler and updates to
the side air intakes. The A8 also comes with an electronic lowering
module which brings the car 25mm (1 inch) lower to the ground. There are
also new wheel designs available in up to 21 inches.
We firmly believe that a classy motor like the A8 needs to be left
alone. But if you're going to do something to the bodywork, the new quad
exhaust system should be considered. It completely changes the look of
the back end in a way that will get every Audi fan interested.
