Subaru Forester tS Gets Tuned by STI

Subaru Forester tS Gets Tuned by STI
First it was the Subaru BRZ to get the tS treatment, now it’s the Japanese automaker’s popular Forester.

Just like the Subaru BRZ tS, the upgraded Forester model teases at the potential of a full blown STI variant but stops short of the hardcore performance that can be found on the WRX STI.
Instead, the Forester tS does get plenty of upgrades from STI with suspension and aesthetic changes as well as a retuned ECU. Enhancements include Brembo front and rear brakes, an STI-tuned suspension with a new flexible tower bar, flexible front and rear draw stiffener and more support for the rear subframe. An oil cooler is added for the continuously variable transmission (CVT) while 19-inch BBS wheels are paired with 245/45/19 Bridgestone Turanza tires.
On the outside, the Forester tS benefits from an exclusive black grille, an STI-designed front spoiler and rear under spoiler, black roof spoiler, silver foglight bezels, black door mirrors, black side window moldings and plenty of STI ornaments and the company’s signature cherry red pin stripes. Additionally, the interior receives plenty of upgrades as well from STI including an exclusive multifunction display, luminiscent speedometer and leather-wrapped steering wheel. Other accessories include unique seats while the door trim receives an Ultrasuede with red stitching finish.
Powering the Subaru Forester tS is the company’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and the model will be limited to just 300 units. It is already available in Japan and is priced at around $34,170.
