You
may not have heard of Krumm-Performance, but the German firm has been in
business for more than 10 years making high-powered monsters out of
MINIs. The latest Krumm-Performance MINI is a JCW (John Cooper Works)
R56 series fitted with the Stage III kit which is good for 300
horsepower.
The ingredients of Krumm-Performance
MINI stage III power upgrade include something called “Hybrid Turbo”
which consists of compressor gap optimized and enlarged, bigger turbine,
CNC finished termination assemblies, and reinforced motorsports
bearings set. It works in tandem with an Akrapovic downpipe with 100
cells metal cat, but you can also order a HJS 200 cells cat.
Other little bits and bobs include
diverse heat protection shields, racing intercooler, high-performance
air filter, and uprated spark plugs. But all this would have been
useless if it weren’t for a new engine control unit Krumm has installed
to make the best use of the new high-performance components.
The engine kit is priced at 4,999.00
Euro, but it is advised you spend another 2,150.00 Euro on the Drexler
limited-slip differential and 1.620,00 Euro on a The Sachs racing
clutch. These will help Krumm-Performance MINI to put every one of those
300 horses to good use. While you are at it you may want to add
AP-Racing brake system (3,300.00 Euro), KW Clubsport suspension (2,550.00 Euro), and ATS-GTR 17-inch wheels as well as a front lip and rear diffuser.
