Tuner claims this is the fastest Panamera on the planet.
Recently, German tuning firm Gemballa unveiled the GTP 720, a record-breaking
Porsche Panamera-based
monster that could put the Panamera Turbo to shame in nearly every
category. Now, the company is releasing additional data and new pictures
of the car, that now boasts a less controversial
design. Gemballa has upgraded the stock
car's twin-turbo 4.8-liter V8, allowing it to churn out an insane 720
horsepower. Compared to the Panamera Turbo, the GTP 720 also makes an
additional
188 lb-ft of torque.
With this power, Gemballa has managed to achieve a few new records with
its manic sedan: As well as an electronically-controlled top speed of 211
mph, the car can hit 62 mph in 3.2 seconds, shoot to 124 mph in 9.7
seconds and blast to 187 mph in just 26.4 seconds. That represents respective 1,
3, and 33.6 second improvements over the production car's acceleration. In
fact, the car also broke a lap time record for its weight class at the Sachsenring
track, making the round in just 1:37.08. And while the luxury tuner's choice of
exterior design is still somewhat underwhelming, we're sure that everything
will be forgotten once you get behind the wheel.
