Both gain an extra 100 PS
PP-Performance has released a power package for the
twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter engine installed in the C63 S and AMG GT S.
Work started on the C63
S which in its standard configuration is already a very capable sedan with 510
PS (375 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft), but those who need even more muscle
from the eight-cylinder engine can pay €2,899 for a chip tuning that raises the
motor's output to 610 PS (449 kW) and 769 Nm (568 lb-ft) of torque. Once the
power package is applied, the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint time is lowered from
4 seconds to 3.59 seconds while the top speed jumps from an electronically-restricted 155 mph (250 km/h) to 190 mph (307 km/h).
As for the AMG GT S,
this one has been upgraded from 510 PS (375 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) to
610 PS (449 kW) and 765 Nm (565 lb-ft). Available at the same price, the kit has ensured a sprint time in 3.4
seconds (down by 0.4s) and an increase in top speed from 193 mph (310 km/h) to
201 mph (324 km/h).
At an additional cost, PP-Performance is offering a racing
filter for €199 and a catless exhaust kit for €2,499 which combined add 33 PS
(24 kW) to both the C63 S and the AMG GT S. Needless to say, the power boost is also compatible with the standard C63 and AMG GT models.
