Interior cabin completely stripped out
German tuner KBR Motorsport has elaborated a complex
aftermarket package for the BMW M3 Coupe (E92).
Appropriately
named "Clubsport", this heavily modified previous
generation M3 has lost some serious weight after the interior cabin was
stripped out. The tuner's priority was to shave off as much weight as
possible
and they removed the rear seats, sound insulation and the interior trim,
not
just from the passenger compartment, but also from the trunk. They also
got rid of the standard front seats to make room for a pair of Recaro
Profi SPG motorsport (with
four-point Schroth harness) seats while the new custom door panels are
manufactured
from carbon fiber.
The list of goodies continues as the tuner has installed KW's
Clubsport coil-over suspension along with 19-inch BBS Competition wheels
wrapped around in 265/30 ZR19 Pirelli Trofeo tires. The stopping power has also
been enhanced as the M3 Coupe now has Endless discs and brake pads to keep up
with the 4.0-liter V8 engine’s bump in power to 450 PS (331 kW) and 440 Nm (325
lb-ft) achieved through an ECU remap, with higher states of tune currently in
the works.
KBR Motorsport also worked on the gearbox's software to make
it compatible with the upgraded engine and also to provide quicker shifting.
This M3 Coupe E92 has gained a GT4-spec oil cooler system and a modified
exhaust. Lastly, the tuner didn't fiddle
around too much with the car's exterior appearance as they only applied some carbon fiber here and there.
