Well, this sure is a fun swap! Simply rip out the VR6 engine up front
and stuff a 5.2 liter V10 in the back and give it a pair of a turbos to
boost output to over 1500 horses. That is what Asgard Performance in
Germany did with this Golf and that certainly is one way to increase the
output of a MKIV R32.
Now, you can clearly see the V10 in the back and that they actually did
put the motor back there. They are claiming 1500+ horsepower and a curb
weight of 1984 pounds. That curb weight is very hard to believe as is
the 1.32 pounds per horse ratio.
We all know the V10 can make over 1500 horsepower with a big pair of
turbos so no reason to doubt the power potential aspect. This is
definitely one of the coolest VW swaps we have seen and the video of a
rev is nice and all but how about some substance?
How about a video of the car running or a dyno? There are a lot of
questions marks here but the concept is definitely cool. This is a new
shop and they seem to be promoting this big time asking for people to
contact them. VWBoost would like to see what this car can actually do
and some concrete support for their very bold claims.
