Can you really tune something
that's as perfect as the Jaguar F-Type Coupe? Unless you're talking
about adding a track-use radiator for the rear diff, the answer has to
be "no" and we sincerely hope that nobody will ever try to do it. But
you can try to add class and improve it, in the same way that Alpina has
bolstered the looks of all BMWs for decades.
Arden, a long-time specialist in custom Jaguars and Land Rovers, has
just released these photos of their F-Type Coupe custom project. The
German company says work is still underway, but it wanted to show what's
possible from a cosmetic point of view.
There's no aero body kit and bolt-on wing here, only subtle changes like
the Sportsline 21-inch alloy rims, which have a small lip that Jaguar
units don't offer and come in other metallic or black finishes. If this
is what you want done to your recently purchased F-Type, be prepared to
spend €8,200 for the rims, plus anther €600 for the lowered stance.
Arden has been working on Jaguar supercharged engines for decades and
they're ready to increase the output of both the 3-liter V6 units and
the V8 that are available on the "F-Coupe". But the feature that really
caught our attention is the Leaper, Jaguar's famous hood mascot that's
been removed from all recent cars due to safety reasons (pedestrian
protection and such). Arden decided enough was enough and fitted it own
version that's got a "Made in Germany" stamp and "lifelong corrosion
warranty".
Fans have been asking for years to bring back their favorite hood
ornament. But somehow, it looks out of place on a modern car, like
putting a 50s chrome ornament on a 2015 model year Buick or Cadillac.
