AC Schnitzer has just unveiled their new upgrade range for the F36-generation BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe, thus catching a part of the four-door coupe wave that’s taking the automotive world. The new upgrades won’t yield out-of-this-world performance, but they all have just the right amount of sport and fun to make the gasoline and diesel variants much more exciting.
Both the oil-burners and gasoline sipping engines gain a healthy dose of power thanks to the AC Schnitzer tunes with optional intercooler (gasoline only). The 420i and 428i go from 184- and 245-horsepower up to 245- and 294-horsepower, respectively. The range-topping 435i goes from 306 ponies up to 360. On the diesel side, the 420d gets bumped up to 218-horsepower while the 430d pumps out 309-horsepower with the tune. The top-dog 435d goes from 313-horsepower stock up to a torquey 360 horsepower. In addition to the engine tunes, all variants can be given a new AC Schnitzer muffler with chromed tailpipes in “Racing Evo”, “Racing”, and “Sport” trims.
A hallmark of almost all BMWs are their superb weight balance and handling capabilities. AC Schnitzer is able to improve upon the driver-centric dynamics of the 4-Series Gran Coupe thanks to three different suspension kits. For the mild enthusiast, there’s the AC Schnitzer spring kit that lowers the front axle by 15-25 mm and the rear by 10-25 mm. An AC Schnitzer sports suspension sharpens things up more with a 10-25 mm lowering of the front axle and 5-15 mm lowering at the rear. The most nimble option for the 4-Series Gran Coupe is the AC Schnitzer racing suspension with adjustable bound and rebound settings with a 30-40 mm lowering up front and 25-40 mm reduction at the rear.
These three different suspension options can be paired up with four types of AC Schnitzer wheels for a greater range of customization. The top-model in the range are the Type VIII BiColor forged wheels in sizes ranging from 8.5 x 19 to 9.0 x 21. The BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe can also be fitted with Type VIII in BiColor Black, Silver, or Anthracite, Type IV wheels in Silver or BiColor Black, or Type IV wheels in BiColor Black with 18-, 19-, and 20-inch diameters with corresponding tires.
That’s not all when it comes to the exterior, though. A new front spoiler and rear diffuser combo are tailored for cars with or without the M-Technik packages while both gain carbon mirror covers and rear skirt protection foiling. The M-Technik cars can also benefit from a new chrome front grille as well.
Inside, the BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe can be fitted with new AC Schnitzer goodies that add to the overall sporty nature of the German four-door coupe. Aluminum can be fitted throughout with a new handbrake handle (Black Line), gear knob (Black Line), pedal set, and foot rest. A leather gear knob with illuminated display or version with a digital display can be installed as well. The final touches are a new AC Schnitzer key holder and soft velour floor mats.
All of the new AC Schnitzer upgrades are available for the F36 BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe as individual accessories for all of the gasoline and diesel-powered variants. Pricing has not been released.
