It
feels like yesterday when Mercedes SLS was introduced to the world as
the new supercar with a three-pointed star on its nose, picking up where
the SLR left off. But car business, like Hollywood, is a cruel world in
which the SLS is now considered a has-been. The new AMG GT is so good,
nobody seems to remember the SLS anymore.
Not to worry though, because there
are still ways to at least try and give back to the old girl her lost
glamour. In the same way that an aging actress gets a new lease of life
with plastic surgery and what not, an old supercar can be made all nice
and shiny again with a good tuning package. And MEC Design has just the
thing for the SLS.
MEC Design Mercedes SLS comes with the
tuner’s familiar body kit, but this time in a cool new color called
Monza Grey Matte. They have, rather surprisingly, deemed the standard
AMG matte black wheels acceptable enough to remain intact.
The styling kit on MEC Design Mercedes
SLS consists of front bumper with LED inserts and lip spoiler in carbon,
rear bumper with “Black Series Style” diffuser in carbon finish with
AMG tailpipes, side skirts with LED lighting, and rear spoiler in
carbon.
Other little bits and bots include MEC
carbon/alcantara sport steering wheel, sport springs for the suspension,
wheel spacers, complete carbon trim package for the interior and mirror
caps, special floor mats, and alcantara trunk mat.
