It
is always a good sign when releases fancy pictures of a super car with
their name on it, because it means they are working on something good
for that particular model. Granted, we are still waiting to see they
have in mind for the Porsche 918 Spyder, but while we wait, let’s check this gorgeous Edo Competition Ferrari 458 Speciale.
Edo has teased us once before with another Speciale,
but unlike the previous car this one seems stock on the outside.
Ironically, that is a good sign. Edo rarely touches the design of the
super cars they work on. Their genius lies in upgrading whatever engine
that supercar happens to have.
In the case of the Edo Competition
Ferrari 458 Speciale, that engine is a 4.5 liter V8 unit developing 605
horsepower. Now, Edo already has an electronics kit for the normal 458
Italia what boosts the output of this engine to 620 horsepower. So one
would imagine the Speciale could easily get up to 650 horsepower.
It remains to be seen what sort of
monster Edo is planning to make out of the handsome Speciale. For now
let’s immerse ourselves in the beauty of this aging but still
magnificent Italian diva.
