Although
the new generation Mustang has got some semi-sophisticated suspension
in place of the old ox cart setup, it’s still not completely satisfying
for European customers who are used to much cleverer stuff. That’s where
cars like Milltek Ford Mustang GT come in.
Prepared for the UK’s twisty B roads
based on an order by a British customer who’s immensely chuffed he can
finally buy a right-hand-drive pony car, Milltek Ford Mustang GT is
equipped by the exhaust specialist with a custom system featuring a
stainless steel cat-back exhaust and X-Pipe quad outlet with GT-90 trims
fitted to a Roush Performance quad-outlet rear valance.
The system is estimated to add 15bhp to
the Mustang GT’s 5.0 liter V8’s stock 420. It also gives the muscle car a
much angrier roar. With a Roush air intake system in place, that number
rises up to 456bhp. The real highlight of this car, however, is what
the tuner has done to the chassis with help, know how and components
from the suspension gods at KW Automotive.
Milltek Ford Mustang GT gets a full set
of KW Variant 3 coilovers, complemented with a set of HRE FF15 alloy
wheels measuring 20×10 inch up front and 20×11 inch out back, wrapped
with Toyo R888 high performance tires. Last but not least, they painted a
pair of Le Mans stripes on the car which we reckon is a wink at Shelby,
letting them know the Euro boys can beat them at their own game.
