What
we have here, ladies and gents, is to all intents and purposes the
sickest Corvette in the world right now. It is not the prettiest, or
coolest, and not even the most powerful. But this Callaway Corvette Z06
(the Stingray Z06 – not to be confused with the previous generation
which has the same name) has the right ingredients to be called sick.
We are calling this car sick assuming
that you know ‘sick’ means, in the parlance of today’s urban youth,
‘desirable’ or ‘awesome’. Anyway, what makes this Callaway Corvette Z06
sick is a. the fact that it’s a Z06, b. it’s a convertible, c. it has a
Callaway engine, and d. it’s got Forgiato rims.
Some may also want to include the red
paint job on this car in the list of its virtues, but we think it’s
rather ostentatious, so we won’t. What we do count as a virtue is the
757 horsepower and 777 lb-ft of torque output this ‘Vette is packing,
thanks in part to a Callaway supercharger. It enables the car to sprint
from 0 to 60 mph in under 3 seconds.
As for the wheels, which play a major
part in giving the car its sickness, they are Forgiato F2.21-ECL models
finished in a two-tone glossy black and candy red to match the paint
work of the Z06.
