There
are plenty of new cars to see at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, but
even in such a significant event it is the old stuff that are the
coolest. If you don’t believe that just pop by Brabus’ booth and check
out this Mercedes 280 SL Pagoda next to their modern creations.
This amazing Mercedes 280 SL Pagoda by Brabus Classic
will be on display at the Geneva Motor Show as an example of what the
Classic department of the German tuner is capable of. Working with
Daimler’s own classic division, these guys can turn the clock back on
any old Mercedes and make it showroom fresh.
Powered by a six-cylinder 170 horsepower
engine, the 1969 Mercedes 280 SL Pagoda is possibly the classiest of the
classic Mercs, with the exception of the SL Gullwing, of course. Brabus
cars have zero kilometers on the clock after restoration and feature
all the original equipment, including fabric soft top, leather seats,
Becker Europa radio, mechanical antenna, all-original precious wood
trimming, and 4-speed gearbox.
As for the pricing, a Pagoda, or as some
say Pagode, these days amounts to a piece of jewlery, with big diamond
in it, owned by some royalty. It is only going to appreciate in time.
That is why the 249,000 is not that bad!
