It
is not often we get to have an up close and personal look at RUF
products, partly because these are rare cars, and partly because the
company has a rubbish press office who doesn’t release many photos and
videos. The RUF Porsche 991 RT35 we’re checking out here is presented to
you courtesy of the tuner’s Canadian branch.
As the oldest tuning firm in the world
(est. 1939), RUF has a special way of doing things which mean their cars
are utterly unique. It also means not everybody likes what they do.
This RUF Porsche 991 RT35 is a case in point. Some like us find it
pretty exquisite and classy, while others may scoff at it, calling if
old-timey and uncool.
RUF Porsche 991 RT35 features an
exclusive aero kit that consists of a custom front spoiler lip on a
revised bumper, a rear diffuser with elaborate aero fins, a front grille
opening, new engine cover with larger vents, and a rear spoiler which
comes in two tall and ducktail versions like the one on this car. It’s
not a cheap kit, mind you, as the front and rear apron treatments
together cost about 15,000 Euros.
If you want the RUF wheels, that’d be
another 4,480 Euros, Bilstein suspension 2,800 Euros, and floor mats,
sport pedals and aluminum footrest together around 500 Euros.
