Urban Truck Breathes On The Land Rover Defender

A subtle makeover which is nonetheless an improvement.
The Land Rover Defender is a difficult vehicle to improve upon. Part of the whole appeal of is the very basic and utilitarian nature of the vehicle, so modifications need to be restrained. Now, you might not expect that a firm with a name like Urban Truck would be the ones to make a suitably restrained tuning package for the Defender, but the UK-based tuner most certainly has. From the outside you can see a new grille, hood vents, light surrounds and running lights.

new Recaro seats covered in Nappa leather, custom carpet and a leather steering wheel. There's also a new Alpine navigation/rearview camera/stereo system complete with subwoofer. Lastly, a new air filter kit, stainless steel sport exhaust and improved intercooler raise the power output of the 2.2-liter turbodiesel from 122 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque to 170 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. Prices start at £49,995 for the 90 Station Wagon and go up to £54,995 for the 110 Station or Utility Wagon.
