The tuningexperts at Oettinger have released their latest project on the VW Golf R.
With a larger turbo, exhaust system and ECU tuning they are able to
boost the power output to 400PS or 396 horsepower. From the factory this
2.0-liter turbocharged engine puts down 300PS or 295 HP, so this is
quite an increase for a car its size. With the modifications it can now
sprint from 0 to 100 km/h or 62 mph in less than 4.0 seconds while
reaching a top speed of 250 km/h or 174 mph.
To go along with the performance tuning, some slight exterior styling
mods were also installed. They consist of a new body kit featuring
front and rear bumpers, roof spoiler, new diffuser and 19 or 20-inch
lightweight alloy rims. Racing brakes were also necessary to contain all
this power, and you will be able to find this car at the upcoming
Wörthersee Golf GTI Meeting in Austria where Oettinger will showcase
their Golf R Mk7 tuning kits.
