Shiny,
mirror-finish chrome wraps are on their way out as a trend, and they
are being replaced with more dignified dark, brushed and sating wraps
which look a lot less ostentatious and much cooler. This Mercedes E-Coupe here has been given one such treatment by the guys from Impressive Wrap.
The finish they chose to go with the
factory chrome trims is a dark shade known as the black chrome. It is
not really black, but a tinted version of the normal chrome finish that
looks kind of futuristic and unusual. Granted, the looks of the E-Coupe
may be a bit too serious to pull off this color, but still, what they
have achieved here looks a lot more interesting than the standard car.
The standard Mercedes E-Coupe,
brilliant though it is as a car, looks way too understated for a sporty
coupe. The old CLK, which this car replaced, used to have round
headlights and flared arches and a nice, curvy bottom. Those were all
exciting shapes. This one though, it kind of like a suit you were to
your 9 to 5 job. No wonder then AMG didn’t bother making a hotted-up
version of the E-Coupe. It would have been an exercise in futility!
