Mercedes-Benz G500 tricked out by Lorinser
Lorinser has sent us images and details concerning their latest project based on the Mercedes-Benz G500.The timeless G-Class continues to be a source of inspiration for tuners and now Lorinser has customized the G500 by making some subtle yet effective changes. Starting on the outside, they have applied a new front grille which optimizes airflow to enable better cooling for the upgraded engine. Other tweaks include beefier side skirts along with a revised rear deck lid spoiler and a new spare wheel cover. Rounding off the exterior modifications are the 22-inch lightweight alloy wheels that have a five triple-spoke design and come wrapped around in 295/35 R22 tires.
By applying a power enhancement module and a “throaty” sports exhaust system, Lorinser was able to upgrade the engine to 490 PS (360 kW) at 5,500 rpm and 690 Nm (509 lb-ft) at 4,700 rpm. The bump in power has significantly improved performance as the G500 now runs the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 5.6 seconds and tops out at 130 mph (210 km/h).
Lorinser has not released any pictures with the interior cabin, but they do say there are numerous customization options, such as carbon fiber, wood or piano trims, personalized floor mats and several upholstery choices.
In terms of pricing, the tuner is asking €4,360 (including VAT) for the full body kit whereas the power module + exhaust system cost €6,000.
