German
tuner Wimmer RS in collaboration with KTM and KW Suspension has come up
with a meaty upgrade package for the KTM X-Bow track car. What makes
this program interesting is that they have applied it to all three
X-Bows including GT, R, and RR, thus creating a 1,300-hp “armada” of
super track cars.
Wimmer’s KTM X-Bow program begins with a treatment for the X-Bow GT model which receives an
engine upgrade from 245 horsepower to 485 horsepower and 520 Nm of max
torque. That combined with a dry weight of only 850 kg result in
such an amazing power to weight ratio that Wimmer says it brings tears
of joy to the eyes of the driver. Or that’s probably due to 1.5 G this
car subjects its driver to while cornering.
To cope with that level of performance,
Wimmer KTM X-Bow gets a carbon EVO2 wing at the back and a bespoke
suspension system. They assure you can safely reach 100 km/h from rest
in under 4 seconds and reach a top speed of 160 mph (255 km/h) a few
seconds alter.
The KTM X-Bow GT costs a whopping 130,000
Euros, but Wimmer also offers the X-Bow R with 450 horsepower and
stripped-out body weighing 785 kg for 120,000 Euros, and the X-Bow RR
with 370 horsepower and without the rear wing for 110,000 Euros.
