The German tuner has always been obsessed with Porsche and they years of work on Zuffenhausen's creations have brought a level of refinement that instantly shined when we met the car on the Essen floor. The Macan already has a premium feel to it and the complete treatment applied by Techart only comes to take this further.
Techart displayed the range-topping Macan Turbo at the German tuning event and we'll start with the bits you can't see in the adjacent images, namely the Power Kit TA B95/T1.
Yes, we know, the name is more than a little complicated, but the effects of this power kit are simple, as the twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 gains 50 hp and 70 Nm (52 lb-ft), delivering 450 hp and 620 Nm (457 lb-ft) of torque.
As a result, the Techart Macan Turbo sprints to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.4 seconds and, if the drivers insists, can hit a top speed of 271 km/h (168 mph).
Mind you, Techart also took the Macan S Diesel to the gym and you can find the details here.
As always, Techart offers a discrere yet complete interior and exterior makeover, touching each and every bit of the Macan.
It all starts with an aerodynamic package that includes a front apron, side skirts, roof spoiler and rear diffuser, all with a touch of carbon fiber. In the wheels department, you can choose between the Techart Formula I, II and III, which are offered in 21- or 22-inch sizes. As for the finish, you can choose between Silver, Gloss Black, Burnished, Bi-Color or have a design made for you.
Stepping inside, we find a completely reworked leather department, special trim, floor mats and dashboard instrument touches. Techart also played with the steering wheel (the Porsche logo was replaced with the Techart one), aluminum pedals and door entry sills.
Porsche seats have always seemed to lack that ten-out-of-ten comfort and it looks like Techart has addressed this by providing a pair of pillows for the rear seats.
Pay attention to the automotive landscape around you and it will become obvious the Porsche Macan is still a pretty rare sight. Nonetheless, hundreds of thousands of Macans will occupy the roads over the next couple of years, so you might just want to add that special touch to yours.
