Former Alpina engine boss Karl-Otto Noelle offers performance upgrade for the twin-turbo inline six-cylinder in BMW M3 and M4
The Noelle-performance upgrade for the S55 engine in the BMW M4 is available in three stages, all three offering significantly more performance than the standard output. Even the basic package boosts the performance of the in-line six cylinder engine to 517 hp, and raises the maximum torque to 650 Newton meters. Also the electronic limitation of the maximum speed is removed.
The next step is a software combination with sports catalysts, now producing 540 hp and 660 Newton meters. Stage 3, which also includes a low-pressure accumulation sport exhaust system, delivers 560 hp and maximum torque of 670 Newton meters – the top speed increases in this case to 325 km/h.
Prices start for the S55-power boost at 4,980 euros and comes with warranty. On request, Noelle can also install an adjustable suspension or custom light forged wheels from HRE.
Karl-Otto Noelle: “Since BMW consistently uses turbocharging and capacity extensions are only useful for naturally aspirated engines, we can now increase the performance more than ever, benefiting from our many years of electronics know-how.”
