Motocross
legend Ricky Carmichael has teamed up with Chevrolet to make a one of a
kind Colorado pickup truck for this year’s SEMA show. This truck was
designed to answer Carmichael’s go-anywhere needs while looking awesome
all the time.
The Chevy Colorado Performance Concept,
as it’s called, features the crew cab’s 6’ 2” cargo bed with CornerStep
rear bumper, so Ricky will have no problem loading up his bikes. It also
features the patent-pending GearOn system designed to hold larger items
such as bikes, boards and kayaks above the bed, leaving room for
smaller gear such as tents and sleeping bags in the bed.
As for the visual features, Chevy
Colorado by Ricky Carmichael boasts a matte gray exterior color accented
with high-gloss silver and yellow accents, and 17-inch Z71 aluminum
wheels with Goodyear Duratec off-road tires. The truck is also fitted
with Chevy MyLink with a built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and rearview
camera system.
Being a competitive athlete Ricky
Carmichael went for the most powerful engine which is the 3.6L V-6 rated
at 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. In 2WD version this engine
will do 26 mpg.
