It was a couple of years ago when German tuner Posaidon revealed their 850 horsepower power kit
for the then new Mercedes E63 AMG. Since then they haven’t been up to
much else besides thinking of ways to make that kit even more insane,
and they’ve pulled it off. Posaidon Mercedes E63 now gets the RS850+
package with up to 1,020 horsepower.
Boasting a number of new features
including a new aero kit and some weight saving measure, Posaidon
Mercedes E63 RS850+ is based on a 4Matic S model. Choosing the
four-wheel-drive version has been a good call because this thing has so
much oomph, a rear-drive version just could not handle it. It would just
sit there and smoke its rear tires, whereas the AWD can utilize that
power to achieve some mind-bogglingly quick performance figures.
With 1,020 horsepower and 1,400 Nm of
torque on the tap, the new Posaidon Mercedes E63 is capable of
accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in a back-breaking 2.8 seconds, and flat
out it can reach 368 km/h. Mind you, in order to achieve that kind of
speed, this E has gone through some stern measures, including the loss
of its rear seats, C63 Black Series front seats, a lightweight carbon
aero kit, and a heavily revised gearbox, not to mention the addition of
some really expensive brakes.
So no, it’s not a very practical car. But
at least the few times that this Posaidon does work before it catches
fire or explode or break down, you are going to have a jolly good time!
