0-100 km/h takes 3.8 seconds
The German tuners at Dähler Design & Technik GmbH
are introducing their power package specifically designed for the latest BMW
X5 M and X6 M.
It's highly unlikely you will hear someone saying the X5 M
and X6 M duo lacks in the power department, but that hasn't stopped Dähler from
upgrading the already strong twin-turbo V8 4.4-liter engine. As standard, the
motor churns a massive 575 PS (423 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque and
with the tuner's stage 1 kit the output jumps to 664 PS (488 kW) and 820 Nm
(605 lb-ft). Once the power bump is applied, the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint
time drops from 4.2 seconds to 3.9 seconds while top speed is increased from an
electronically-limited 155 mph (250 km/h) to 190 mph (305 km/h), also capped.
For those with a bigger thirst for power, Dähler has a stage
2 program that increases output to 680 PS (500 kW) and an enormous 860 Nm (635
lb-ft). In this case, the sprint takes as little as 3.8 seconds before the
high-performance SAVs reach the same electronically-governed 190 mph (305
km/h).
Aside from packing more punch, the X5 & X6 M duo can
also be fitted with a variety of 22- and 23-inch alloy wheels, a stainless
steel exhaust system, high performance catalysts, adjustable chassis and
several customizations for the interior cabin. They can also improve the gas
pedal response and modify the rpm limiter for added sportiness.
