BMW M2 by MANHART Performance to develop 450 PS

BMW M2 by MANHART Performance to develop 450 PS

Players in the aftermarket industry are already thinking of ways to boost the BMW M2 and now MANHART has announced they will launch an upgrade in 2016.
Known as the “MH2 450”, the tuning package will focus primarily on the turbo-six 3.0-liter engine that will receive a power hike from 370 PS (272 kW) to 450 PS (331 kW). The upgrade kit will be part of the tuner’s 30th anniversary celebrations and the boost will be achieved through the usual ingredients: ECU remap, custom exhaust and catless downpipes.
Aside from infusing more power, MANHART will also give the BMW M2 Coupe a new look by applying a striking yellow paint combined with numerous carbon fiber parts which as you can see will be left unpainted. We notice a new ventilated hood, front splitter and a set of black alloy wheels backed by yellow calipers to match the body.
We remind you that just a few days ago Alpha-N Performance announced its own package for the M2 and they plan on taking the power level to no less than 480 PS (353 kW).
One of the most important reasons why tuners are already concentrating on kits for the M2 has to do with the model’s broader availability as while the 1-Series M Coupe was offered in limited quantities, its successor will be produced in significantly higher numbers, with some reports stating that BMW has plans of assembling as much as 11,000 units during the model’s entire life cycle.
