Those
of you born in the 21st century wouldn’t know, but kids of the 90s will
remember this E-Class body as one of the most iconic sedans of that
era. That makes this 1997 RENNtech Mercedes E60 S a true blast from the
past. And it’s so freakin’ cool!
What’s particularly amazing about the
RENNtech Mercedes E60 S, or any sporty version of this E-Class typ such
as the AMG models, is how well this design responds to modifications.
The standard body is frankly quite dull. But bolt on a front and rear
spoiler and some wide fenders, and throw in a set of nice wheels, and
voila, it becomes taut and ripped and aggressive.
Besides the visual treatment RENNtech
Mercedes E60 S also came with a power V8 engine and a range of
performance upgrades that made it one of the manliest sedans of its
time. The 6.0 liter V8 in this car churns out 404 hp and more than 480
lb-ft of torque, propelling the car from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and
on to a top speed of 192 mph.
