1990 Mercedes-Benz G-Class by Carlex Design

Polish interior specialists Carlex Design have just unveiled one of their most eye-catching projects to date based around a 1990 Mercedes-Benz G-Class.

The typical G-Class from 1990 features a plethora of plastic elements throughout its cabin. Not satisfied with that, Carlex Design have outfitted the cabin with a multitude of leather components. The leather is finished in either brown or black and features a heritage finish to ensure it looks standard.

Elsewhere, the cabin of this Mercedes-Benz G-Class has a plethora of wooden elements particularly on the dashboard and centre console. A bespoke three-spoke wheel has also been fitted while the headliner has been finished in brown nubuck.

The American tuner offers a selection of packages for Godzilla with each boosting the performance of the Japanese supercar in extraordinary ways. This latest GT-R created by the firm is one of its most impressive.

For starters, it was been installed with the Jotech Stage 6 S upgrade which lifts power from the car’s 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine to 1200 hp. When ordered in race specification, the Stage 6 package offers an additional 200 hp.

Beyond the engine upgrades, this GT-R also features a plethora of aftermarket body panels and aerodynamic elements. For example, it includes a custom matte carbon fibre bonnet, a new carbon front splitter and canards, side skirts and a bespoke rear diffuser. Also featured is a carbon bootlid, a towering rear wing and a set of stunning matte black wheels.

Ares Design Unveils Custom Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Just after revealing its tuning packages for both the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG and Lamborghini Huracan, Italian design house Ares Design has just unveiled its range of modifications for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. As we’re quickly learning from the company founded by former Lotus chief executive Dany Bahar, they don’t hold back with their tweaks.
With that in mind, Ares will offer its S-Class upgrades in both normal and XXL formats catering to all variations of the luxury German sedan including the range-topping S-Class Maybach Pullman.

At the front, the car has been adorned with an extensively modified fascia. That new front-end includes a custom chrome grille with eye-catching angled vertical slats. Elsewhere, a new bumper has been fitted complete with a bespoke lower splitter and new air intakes.
Moving to the sides and new skirts are immediately visible alongside a custom set of black and silver twin five-spoke wheels. Red brake calipers can also be seen on this display model. The rear is then characterised by a custom diffuser, bumper and exhaust pipes.

While the interior of the standard S-Class is already world-class, Ares Design didn’t let that fact dissuade them from making it even better. To do so, cooling boxes are found throughout as are 17-inch flatscreen TVs, carbon fibre-backed front seats, a privacy partition and electric curtains. Additionally, embroided Ares Design badges are found on the seats.
Alongside all these visual transformations, a number of performance upgrades are available for all S-Class versions.

Kahn Design Flying Huntsman Priced at Less Than Half a G63 6×6

At the Geneva Motor Show 2015, Kahn Design unveiled the Flying Huntsman. Based around the Land Rover Defender, the car basically merges together the six-wheeled philosophy of the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6 with the Defender in an undeniably eye-catching package. Now pricing details for the car have been released.
Customers in the UK will have to hand over at least 199,875 for the potent off-roader. While that is undeniably a lot of money, it is about half of what it cost Mercedes-Benz buyers for the G63 AMG 6×6. Sure, the Flying Huntsman isn’t as outlandish as the 6×6, but it isn’t all that far off and still very capable off road.

The Kahn Design Flying Huntsman 110 WB 6×6 Concept is based upon the Land Rover Defender 110 model. It comes equipped with a 6.2-litre General Motors LS3 V8 engine, driving a six-speed automatic gearbox. Power is expected to be around 430 hp and it will keep the locking differentials and low range gear capability of the standard Defender.

The coachwork is custom and provides a 400 mm extension to the bonnet, a 800mm extension to the rear cabin and a 150 mm wider track. The windscreen has also had its rake increased while the front doors are larger and the roof is fully panoramic. Upgraded suspension and braking components are also found.
